Exactly what you want from an appliance repair company. Easy, efficient, and extremely professional. I called on a Tuesday evening, the friendly receptionists booked me for Wednesday afternoon. The repair man called Wednesday morning and was actually able to come early. They arrived promptly at the time he said he would and was able to quickly diagnose and repair a factory issue on our fridge. Highly recommend for any appliance repair.

They were not only professional and did an exceptional job fixing the dryer for us, but he called me to let me know that although the part wasn’t delivered yet, that he would still come the same day as soon as he got the part needed. Being without a dryer for almost a week was enough to deal with and he went the extra mile to make sure we weren’t stuck over the weekend. It was truly appreciated..

All Island Appliance Repair: Home Appliance Maintenance

Not maintaining your Nassau County home appliances can cause a lot of problems down the road. Some appliances can build up debris, causing clogs, breaks, and other issues. To avoid that, you will want to take the time to clean them regularly.

These are some tips to make your home appliances last as long as possible:

Check on Your Oven Door

Over time, the seal on your oven door can wear out. This home appliance repair task is simple and fast- but you need to know it’s broken first. When not properly sealed, your oven can not cook through food entirely, which is unsafe. Plus, cook times are going to increase, as well as your electric bills.

Start by inspecting your oven door. You should see a rubber seal around the edge of the door. You can check it for rips, dents, tears, or other problems. If you close the door and notice it’s hard to shut, there could be a problem with the seal. We have repaired many ovens since we opened in Nassau County. We can easily fix your seal with a quick appliance repair, so you can get back to safely cooking your favorite meals.

Check on Your Fridge’s Coils

No one thinks to clean the back of their fridge. Over time, dust and debris can build up there and cause clogs. That makes your refrigerator have to run harder to keep your food cold. When that happens, the fridge wears out faster and starts draining your money.

Once a year, take a vacuum and suck up the debris clinging to the back of your fridge. It is easy and takes little time to do. When finished, you can feel confident you have extended the lifespan of your fridge and avoided costly appliance repair.

Check the Washing Machine Hoses

Appliance Repair Services in Nassau County, NY

If you are worried about a washing machine flood, you will want to check the hoses that connect to the back of the machine. We can help you if you notice any signs of damage on the hoses by supplying a quality appliance repair. All Island Appliance Repair has worked with many washers in Glen Cove, NY and knows we can help you too.

How old are your hoses? If they are more than five years old, make sure to replace them as soon as you can. They are much more likely to give out at that age.

Clean the Dryer Exhaust

Next, make sure that you clean the dryer exhaust. Not only does this help the appliance run at maximum efficiency, but you also remove a potential fire hazard from your home. Cleaning is simple too. If you need any help in Glen Cove, NY, we are here to help you!

To clean the exhaust, remove it from the back of the dryer. Then, take out any pieces of lint you see in the hardware. Using a straight, metal coat hanger is good for removing clumps of lint. When done, you can also use your vacuum back there before reassembling the dryer.

Clean Your Air Conditioner

Air conditioners are an appliance we usually don’t think needs cleaned. Clogged filters can cause a lot of problems, however. They greatly reduce the machine’s ability to run, causing higher energy bills. Simply removing dust from the filters ensures they will last a very long time.

This process can be completed differently depending on the model and year your air conditioner was made. Contact us if you are unsure of what to do with the filters.

Some information about Glen Cove, NY

Glen Cove is a city in Nassau County, New York, on the North Shore of Long Island. At the United States 2010 census, the city population was 26,964, and 27,166 at the 2019 American Community Survey.

Succeeding cultures of indigenous peoples had lived in the area for thousands of years. At the time of European contact, bands of the Lenape (Delaware) nation inhabited western Long Island, the areas of New York and New Jersey around the harbor, and along the coast through present-day Pennsylvania and Delaware, as well as along the Delaware River. They spoke an Algonquian language. By 1600 the band inhabiting this local area was called the Matinecock after their location.

Glen Cove was used as a port by English migrants from New England and named Moscheto before 1668. On May 24, 1668 Joseph Carpenter of Warwick, Rhode Island purchased about 2,000 acres (8.1 km2) of land to the northwest of the Town of Oyster Bay from the Matinecock. Later in that year, he admitted four residents of Oyster Bay as co-partners in the project: brothers Nathaniel, Daniel, and Robert Coles; and Nicholas Simkins. The five young men named the settlement Musketa Cove Plantation, musketa meaning place of rushes in the Lenape language.

In the 1830s, steamboats started regular service on Long Island Sound between New York City and Musketa Cove, arriving at a point still called The Landing. As Musketa was negatively associated with mosquito, in 1834 residents changed the name to Glen Cove; this was said to be taken from the misheard suggestion of Glencoe, meaning Glencoe, Scotland.
